Change of Details
Dear Members of our St Brigid’s Community,
Spring is in the air! With Springtime comes a renewed sense of focus, joy and sunshine. In the coming weeks, we look forward to the warmer, longer, brighter days! As we approach the last three weeks of Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support of our wonderful school.
Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting our annual Father's Day Breakfast and Liturgy. It was truly wonderful to see so many fathers, grandfathers and special people join us at school. Our morning began with a delicious breakfast. Following breakfast, we gathered for a beautiful liturgy, which added a meaningful and reflective tone to the day. The smiles on everyone's faces were a testament to the special bonds we share and it was wonderful to spend such quality time together with our loved ones.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
Take care and God bless,
Jayne Bosworth
'Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all God has made.'
Excerpt from St Brigid's Prayer
As part of our Little Feet Big Footprints initiative, today we welcomed Year 6 students from St Mary’s Clarkes Hill, St Michael’s Daylesford, St Patrick’s Gordon and St Augustine’s Creswick. Our day commenced with Mass at 10:30am at St Brigid's Church with a focus on the legacy of Mary MacKillop. We then gathered in the Library and engaged in a wonderful session facilitated by Fr Justin with a focus on linking the Catholic Social Teachings with Mary MacKillop’s mantra, never see a need without doing something about it.
Our students had a fabulous day fostering connections with fellow Year 6 students within the Diocese.
Congratulations to Anni Clarke who has been selected by School Sport Victoria (SSV) to represent Team Vic as a member of the Team Vic 10-12 Years Cross Country team for 2024. Anni will be heading to Yarra Glen, Victoria from Tuesday 20 August to Friday 23 August to participate and will proudly represent St Brigid’s.
As part of this opportunity, Anni will participate in mandated activities including but not limited to briefing sessions, training sessions, presentation days, ceremonies and education sessions. This amazing opportunity is a testament to Anni’s hard work, dedication and skill.
Well done Anni, we are so very proud of you and wish you the very best with this exciting new chapter.

3-Way Conferences will take place this term on Tuesday 27th August from 2:30pm - 6:00pm and Tuesday 3rd September from 2:30pm - 6:00pm. 3-Way Conferences will be 10 minutes in duration. Given the nature of these meetings, it is expected that all students attend the conferences with their parents. Families can book a suitable time through PAM/SIMON Everywhere. Bookings are now open.
As previously communicated, this year students from Year 1-6 will be participating in the Inform & Empower Cyber Safety & Digital Wellbeing program. This means that our classes will be tuning in to live streamed incursions (with their teachers) every term that focus on healthy and safe digital habits. The incursion content is all written and delivered by qualified teachers who are endorsed by the eSafety Commissioner as a Trusted eSafety Provider.
These sessions aim to help children better navigate the online world and become more aware, clever, brave and kind. They will focus on topics including navigating unwanted contact, cyberbullying, help-seeking strategies, unsafe content, balancing screen time with "green time" and sharing personal information. Our first session will commence next week.
The following website will provide you with further information regarding Inform and Empower.

A reminder to please label clothing, lunchboxes, containers, bags and water bottles!
Hot lunches have resumed for Term 3 via the online ordering system - Spriggy Schools.
Please see the brochure for information regarding the Spriggy Schools App.
Volunteers:
This term we will re-introduce a roster to help prepare and serve lunches on each Friday. If you are available to help out on a Friday between 11.30am-1.00pm please contact the school office (valid Working with Children Check is required).
The children really enjoy hot lunches and this can only happen with the help of volunteers!
Our next P&F meeting will take place on Thursday 15th August from 3.15pm - 4.00pm in our school Library. An active P&F committee allows families the opportunity to play a valuable part in providing social and fundraising activities.
