Change of Details
Dear Members of our St Brigid’s Community,
Spring is in the air! With Springtime comes a renewed sense of focus, joy and sunshine. In the coming weeks, we look forward to the warmer, longer, brighter days! As we approach the last three weeks of Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support of our wonderful school.
Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting our annual Father's Day Breakfast and Liturgy. It was truly wonderful to see so many fathers, grandfathers and special people join us at school. Our morning began with a delicious breakfast. Following breakfast, we gathered for a beautiful liturgy, which added a meaningful and reflective tone to the day. The smiles on everyone's faces were a testament to the special bonds we share and it was wonderful to spend such quality time together with our loved ones.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
Take care and God bless,
Jayne Bosworth
'Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all God has made.'

3-Way Conferences will take place this afternoon from 2:30pm - 6:00pm. 3-Way Conferences will be 10 minutes in duration. Given the nature of these meetings, it is expected that all students attend the conferences with their parents. Families can book a suitable time through PAM/SIMON Everywhere. Bookings are now open.
To celebrate the end of Term 3, children are invited to dress in footy colours/casual clothes on Friday 20th September. On this day our Parents and Friends Committee are offering hot pies for lunch (no cost involved). There will be no hot lunch orders on this day.
If your child does not want hot pies or if there are any specific dietary requirements please advise via email administration@sbballan.catholic.edu.au
Please send snacks or a sandwich to school if more lunch is needed in addition to the pies.
As previously communicated, school will conclude at 2:20pm on Friday 20th September, 2024. Term 4 will commence on Monday 7th October, 2024.
Our P&F are in the process of creating a St Brigid's School Cookbook. Please click on the following link to submit your recipe or collect a hard copy from the office:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DCDNJBT
Handy tips when submitting your recipe:
- Please use standard metric measurements for ingredients (cup, teaspoon, tablespoon, millilitres, grams)
- Temperatures to be given in Celsius (not Fahrenheit)
- Please list the method/directions with numbered instructions
Sample recipe below:
Condensed Milk Chock-chip Cookies
Serves: approx. 60 // Prep time 20 Minutes // Cooking time 12 minutes
Ingredients
- 500 g butter
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 5 cups self-raising flour
- a pinch of salt
- 3 x 250g bags chocolate chips (any mix of milk, white and dark)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180oC Line baking trays with non-stick paper.
- Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar. Add salt and condensed milk and continue to beat mixture until light and fluffy.
- Add flour 1 cup at a time, mixing in between each cup
- Add the chocolate chips and mix in.
- Using wet hands, roll dough into golf ball sized balls. place onto baking tray.
- Bake for approximately 12 minutes or until lightly golden.
This recipe makes a lot of cookies so you may need to bake in batches!
You are welcome (and encouraged) to submit more than one recipe for consideration! This will help us if we receive duplicate recipe submissions.
Our next P&F meeting will take place on Thursday 5th September from 3.15pm - 4.00pm in our school Library. An active P&F committee allows families the opportunity to play a valuable part in providing social and fundraising activities. Please attend this meeting if you are interested in joining our P&F committee.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as all funds raised contribute to resources and materials to support your children in their holistic development.

As spring has arrived and the weather is starting to warm up, students can wear full summer uniform if desired.
Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct uniform, either full summer or full winter uniform.
Daily sun protection times are forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology for the time-of-day UV levels are predicted to reach 3 or higher, based on location. At these levels, sun protection is recommended for all skin types. In Victoria, UV levels typically reach 3 or higher daily from mid-August to the end of April.
Given this, children will need their hats effective immediately and will be advised when to wear them according to the UV rating on the day.
Children are able to wear the correct sports uniform each Wednesday and on classroom nominated sports day as directed by your child’s classroom teacher.
A reminder to please label clothing, lunchboxes, containers, bags and water bottles!
