Student Attendance & Absences

All children are expected to be at school ready to begin by 8:55am. Arriving on time for school is important for a number of reasons.  The first 10 minutes of school is a vital time of the day when the day's routine and structure is established.  It is a time for ‘tuning in’ and focusing on the learning intentions for the day.

If your child is unwell or absent, you are required to notify the school as soon as possible on the day of absence, via a phone call through to the office or through our school Parent Access Module (PAM). If there has been no contact from the family in the morning of the absence, a sms from the office regarding your child’s absence from school will be sent. Upon receiving a sms, families are expected to phone through to the office to inform the school of their child’s absence.

Students who arrive late or leave early are expected to be signed in/out at the office by a responsible adult.

School Uniform

Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct summer uniform to school each day including bringing the St Brigid’s school bag to and from school daily. A navy wide brim hat is also required. If your child does not have a hat to wear they will need to play in the sheltered area only during breaks.

Children are able to wear sports uniform each Wednesday and on classroom nominated sports day as directed by your child’s classroom teacher.

Seond Hand Uniform Donations & Pop Up Shop

Secondhand Uniform Items - seeking donations

The senior students are holding a Pop-Up Secondhand Uniform Shop on Tuesday 10th December and we are looking for donations of any St Brigid's uniform, particularly smaller sizes for our new Foundation children commencing school. Each item of clothing will be sold for a gold coin donation.

Please make sure the items are in excellent condition and washed prior to donating.

We are very grateful for the support received each year.  Thank you for your assistance with this.

Lost Property - collection

We have many items of clothing in lost property. If your child is missing any uniform items, drink bottles, plastic containers, can you please collect asap.

Any items left in lost property will be donated to the Op Shop at the end of term. Thank you!

School Fees & Accounts

With the end of the year drawing closer we ask all families to finalise their school fees as soon as possible, or by the 5th December. If you are unsure of your balance, please refer to your fee statement or contact Tracey in the office. Final invoices will be emailed home at the end of November.

St Brigid’s School Cookbook - P&F Fundraiser

St_Brigids_Primary_school_cook_book_flier.pdf

Our P&F are in the process of creating a St Brigid's School Cookbook. Please click on the following link to submit your recipe or collect a hard copy from the office:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DCDNJBT

Handy tips when submitting your recipe:

  • Please use standard metric measurements for ingredients (cup, teaspoon, tablespoon, millilitres, grams)
  • Temperatures to be given in Celsius (not Fahrenheit)
  • Please list the method/directions with numbered instructions

Sample recipe below:

Condensed Milk Chock-chip Cookies

Serves: approx. 60 // Prep time 20 Minutes // Cooking time 12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500 g butter
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 5 cups self-raising flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3 x 250g bags chocolate chips (any mix of milk, white and dark)

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180oC Line baking trays with non-stick paper.
  2. Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar. Add salt and condensed milk and continue to beat mixture until light and fluffy.
  3. Add flour 1 cup at a time, mixing in between each cup
  4. Add the chocolate chips and mix in.
  5. Using wet hands, roll dough into golf ball sized balls. place onto baking tray.
  6. Bake for approximately 12 minutes or until lightly golden.

This recipe makes a lot of cookies so you may need to bake in batches!

You are welcome (and encouraged) to submit more than one recipe for consideration! This will help us if we receive duplicate recipe submissions.
