Change of Details
As we step into this new term,
Restore our spirits.
Renew our passion for sharing your wisdom
And nurture our compassion
for those in need of greater support.
Transform us as we seek to transform:
Guide us as we seek to guide;
Open our minds and hearts
As we seek to open minds and hearts
To the Good News of justice and peace.
Help us to listen deeply
To the world and to your Word,
So we can walk with those in our care,
Attentive to the Wisdom that
Calls us all to the Kingdom of God.
Amen
St Brigid's Primary School Ballan wishes to acknowledge respectfully the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, learn, play and gather.
Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
Welcome back to Term 3! It was wonderful to see happy and smiling faces returning to school yesterday. The children had a fantastic first day back, reconnecting with their friends and teachers, and jumping straight into their learning with great enthusiasm.
A very warm welcome to the new families who have joined our school community this term. We are delighted to welcome Frankie (Year 1S), Nyra (Year 2/3M), Reagan (Year 4/5S), Billie (Year 4/5S), Max (Year 5/6B) and Charlotte (Year 5/6B).
As we settle into the winter months, a reminder to ensure children are wearing the correct winter uniform each day. Again this term, students are required to continue wearing the full sports uniform on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Due to the nature of Physical Education lessons, students may wear either the official sports shorts or sports pants on these days.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful term ahead, filled with exciting learning opportunities, special events and continued growth for all our students.
Wishing everyone a positive and productive Term 3!
Take care and have a great week.

Excerpt from St Brigid's Prayer

NAIDOC Week 2025 was celebrated from Sunday 6 July to Sunday 13 July, marking the 50th anniversary of this significant national event. This year's theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, honors the enduring leadership of Elders and the rising generation carrying culture and advocacy forward. It highlights the strength of young leaders, the vision of communities, and the profound legacy passed down through generations.
NAIDOC Week is an annual celebration that recognizes the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It provides an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and participate in celebrations of the oldest continuous living cultures on earth.
3-Way Conferences will take place this term on Tuesday 26th August and Tuesday 2nd September. 3-Way Conferences will be 10 minutes in duration. Given the nature of these meetings, it is expected that all students attend the conferences with their parents/carers. Families can book a suitable time through PAM/SIMON Everywhere. Bookings will be made available within the coming weeks.
2025 School Fees are now due to be paid in full, unless you are on a Direct Debit Plan which will continue as scheduled. Statements will be emailed out as soon as possible. In the meantime if you have any questions regarding your fees or request a statement sooner please contact Tracey Speakman in the Office.
St Brigid's Parents and Friends are again organising our Pie Drive fundraiser. Orders can be made via the Spriggy Schools App and need to be placed prior to Friday 1st August. Delivery to St Brigid's will be on Friday 15th August.
Hard copies of order forms are available from the school office if required.
To order please go to Spriggy Schools using the Events Tab.
As previously communicated, the installation of our cricket pitch began over the holidays and is expected to be completed within the next two weeks! A big thank you once again to our P&F Committee—both past and present—for their incredible fundraising efforts that have made this project possible.

To allow time to finalise the Hot Lunch roster for Term 3, Hot Lunches will recommence next week on Friday, 1st August.
Hot lunches will take place each Friday via the online ordering system - Spriggy Schools on SZapp.
Volunteers
We have re-introduced a roster looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve lunches on each Friday. Ideally 3 helpers are required.
If you are available to help out on a Friday between 11.30am-1.00pm please contact the school office with your dates (valid Working with Children Check is required).
The children really enjoy hot lunches and this can only happen with the help of volunteers!

As a school community, we all share the responsibility of ensuring a safe and smooth environment for our children—this includes during drop-off and pick-up times.
We kindly remind families to be mindful of traffic flow within and around our school. Please avoid stopping for extended periods in areas that are not designated for parking, as this can cause unnecessary congestion and delay for others. A quick and efficient drop-off or pick-up helps keep traffic moving and ensures everyone's safety.
We also ask that you use designated pedestrian crossings and model safe behaviours for our students. Small changes in our routines can make a big difference in maintaining a respectful and efficient space for all. Please also be mindful of not parking in the bus zone in Inglis Street, front of the Church carpark.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school safe for everyone.
At St Brigid’s, we value every day of learning and love seeing our students at school, engaged and thriving. However, we kindly ask that if your child is unwell- whether it's with a cold, flu or any other contagious illness- they stay home to rest and recover.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to keep our classrooms healthy, safe and ready for learning.

Suzanne Beaver will again be at St Brigids every Tuesday this year.
Suzanne is available for individual sessions with children. Common issues addressed are managing strong emotions, self esteem, friendship issues, anxiety, and family challenges such as illness, grief and separation.
Suzanne is also available for individual sessions with parents. Topics can include a range of parenting challenges, i.e. managing strong emotions, school reluctance, helping your child form strong friendships, and helping your child to navigate family separation.
Suzanne can also assist you in finding the right external support for your child and family.
This is a great service provided right here at school. Please don't hesitate to contact Suzanne with any concerns you might have. Contact Suzanne by phone on a Tuesday or by email any day sbeaver@sbballan.catholic.edu.au.
