Change of Details
Dear Families,
As you know, due to ongoing health issues Gabe has extended her sick leave for another 4 weeks. To minimise disruption to staff and students, Anthony Clifford will be returning to the role of Acting Principal as of Wednesday 19th May.
We keep Gabe in our thoughts and prayers.
Unfortunately the outdoor area has not progressed as was expected. Delays have been due to a series of events beyond any of our control; it's been a treasure trove of findings under the ground due to the age of the site - pipes, cables and existing infrastructure to the church and multi purpose room, along with vast amounts of rock and even an old toilet block to name just a few.
This is on top of building and tree permit delays (due to Covid), the amount of dirt required to be removed and more recently, inclement weather, in particular the amount of rain. The recent weather has made the tightness and gradient of the site much more difficult to work with.
There has also been an extra scope of works added into the project for the hit up wall, additional asphalt and replacing of the existing brick retaining wall, which required further engineering. We are committed to ensuring the project is completed properly and meets compliance requirements for the long term.
A lot of the work to date has been ground work and now that this is near complete, there is expected to be considerable visible changes over the next few weeks including paths, fences and brick walls. We will endeavor to keep you all updated on the progress in each newsletter.
Last week several of our students participated in the second round of Cross Country and did our school very proud. Congratulations and good luck to Mate Marinovic and Foster Trinder who made the Top 12 and will go on to compete in Warrnambool on 31st May.

We welcome Angie Haywood to our school. Angie has taken over Vivian's role as our School Pastoral Care Worker from CatholicCare Victoria and will be working with St Brigid's each Tuesday. Should parents wish to contact Angie they can do so on 0490 292 304.
At the end of this term, our school community will be saying farewell to Emma Busuttil as she will taking up her new position as full-time Business Manager at St. Columba's Primary School in Term 3. We congratulate Emma on her new appointment and wish her well in her new role.
St. Columba's gain is very much our loss as Emma is an integral part of our school community and will be greatly missed. We will have the opportunity to formally farewell her in style before the end of term and thank her for her years of dedication and commitment to St. Brigid's.
The position of Finance Officer at St. Brigid's School is currently advertised.
As you are aware Big Childcare is now providing after school care for St Brigids. During this process of transition no fees are being charged by Big Childcare until the 30th May for session attended.
