Restore our spirits.
Renew our passion for sharing your wisdom
And nurture our compassion
for those in need of greater support.
Transform us as we seek to transform:
Guide us as we seek to guide;
Open our minds and hearts
As we seek to open minds and hearts
To the Good News of justice and peace.
Help us to listen deeply
To the world and to your Word,
So we can walk with those in our care,
Attentive to the Wisdom that
Calls us all to the Kingdom of God.
Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome to Term 3!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for warmly welcoming me to the St
Brigid’s community. I acknowledge Anthony Clifford and thank him for his leadership
throughout Term 2. Please continue to keep Gabe Driscoll in your thoughts and
prayers as she continues her period of sick leave.
About me:
My husband Shane and I are the parents of two beautiful boys, Tom (15) and James (6). My interests include watching the boys play their team sports on a weekend, spending time with family and friends and getting away in the caravan when the opportunity presents.
I feel very fortunate to work in a profession that I absolutely love! I have worked in Catholic education as Deputy Principal and Curriculum Leader for the last 5 years and have been in education for 20 years. Throughout this time, I have taken on other leadership roles including a significant period as Acting Principal. In recent years I have worked closely with the University of Melbourne with the purpose of collectively impacting the learning outcomes and experiences of students through a process focusing on learning and teaching. I have a vision of high-quality education for all and a strong belief that all children can and will learn given sufficient time and support.
I am really looking forward to meeting you and fostering meaningful connections within the St Brigid’s community.
Have a wonderful week.
Kind regards,
Jayne Bosworth
The landscaping project is tracking well – the weather over the past week has been kind! Great news… the playground is currently being installed! If all goes to plan, the playground will be inspected on Friday 16th July for safety certification and hopefully available for use soon after. All the students are very keen to play on the new equipment.
A student free day will take place on Friday 13th August. On this day staff will once again participate in a professional learning day facilitated by Corwin Australia focusing on Visible Learning.
Open afternoons will take place this term with the extension of the enrolment closure date. Please see the attached flyer for further information and share with family and friends.
Sacramental masses will occur over the next two weekends with children in Year 4 and 5 making their sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. Thank you to Therese Winter for all her preparation and assistance with the sacramental program. We look forward to celebrating this special time with the children. Please keep the following children in you prayers as they continue their sacramental journey;
Chelsea Winter, Kristian Seketa, Joel Card, Eamon Grigg, Ruby Sims, Tahni Muscat, Ava Conroy, Nicholas Primerano, Angus Eskdale, Aoife Lakey, Jake Plageman, Madison Buttigieg, Henry Freemantle, Olivia Meehan, Bryson McMillan, Mate Marinovic, Jaimi Reid, Clara Monterosso and Terrence Ozimek.
We are very pleased to inform you that based on advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, restrictions for all Victorian Catholic schools have been eased further from 11.59pm Thursday 8 July 2021 and therefore families of classes facilitating Friday assemblies are able to attend.
Week One – Friday 16th July: Year 1/2 R
Week Two – Friday 23rd July: Year 5/6 W

Vinnies launches 2021 Winter Appeal to support homelessness:
As Vinnies responds to a growing demand for services following the end of JobKeeper and cuts to Job Seeker, the National Council of St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia is calling for donations to help support the rising number of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including children, which have all been exacerbated by the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Society provides vital services and support for individuals and families facing financial hardship. With generous support from the public, Vinnies aims to maintain the dignity of those on the edge and restore hope to people who have fallen on hard times. To donate go to https://donate.vinnies.org.au/winter-appeal
QR Code Gordon Parish:
The Victorian Government has introduced a new centralized QR code system that all Victorians must follow. The QR Code Service will automatically record the date, time and location of your visit. All parishioners must sign-in using the QR codes. If you do not have a mobile phone or you have left your phone at home, then please use the sign-in log sheet placed at the lobby area/inner porch of the church. The sign-in log sheets are held in the Gordon Parish Office so that they can be easily accessed, if needed.
