Change of Details
May we discern Your call in our lives
Gracious God,
so that we have the courage to make choices, commit to them wholeheartedly,
learn from our mistakes,
Build love and hospitality in our families and communities, and participate with trust in your mission.
With vision for the good, bless us Gracious God.
With trust in your call,
bless us Gracious God.
With faithfulness in commitment, bless us Gracious God.
With love and responsibility, bless us Gracious God.
Today, tomorrow and into the future.
Amen
Dear Parents and Families,
As we navigate through yet another lockdown, I would like to again thank you for all that you are doing to support your child/children at home. It truly is a team effort with the children, staff, parents and families working together. During this pandemic, safety, love, hope and mental wellbeing should be our priority. This will enable us to maintain and strengthen further safe and respectful relationships within our community which empower all to flourish.
I would like to again acknowledge the wonderful efforts of our staff who have yet again worked swiftly to ensure continuity of learning for our children through providing the remote learning program from Foundation to Year Six.
At St Brigid’s we will continue to follow the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer and the Victorian Government to ensure our school community is safe. I will communicate further information with you as it becomes available. All events that were scheduled to take place throughout the next two weeks have been postponed and further information regarding possible rescheduling will be communicated.
PSG meetings will now take place on Monday 30th August and Monday 6th September, times will be communicated.
Last week, Gabe shared the news of her illness with the St Brigid’s community. I have spoken with many families who would like to do something for Gabe. We are currently in the process of organising a care package from the staff and community to be delivered to Gabe late next week. If you would like to contribute to this care package, please contact me at school or via email, before Wednesday 2nd September. I have also spoken with children who have expressed their sadness regarding Gabe’s news. In my conversations with children, I have encouraged them to make a card or write a letter to Gabe to let her know that she is in their thoughts.
We continue to keep Gabe in our thoughts and prayers and send her much love and strength during this very difficult time.
Take care and God bless,
Jayne Bosworth

Excerpt from St Brigid's Prayer
I would like to acknowledge the work of Nick and his team from Shape Landscape, David and the team from Thompson Hay and Ash Wiseman from Catholic Education Ballarat, who have invested a significant amount of time in supporting the construction of this landscaping project.
I will continue to keep you updated with new developments regarding the landscaping project.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will now be referred to as 3-Way Conferences. A 3-Way Conference actively involves parents, students and teachers reflecting on student growth as a learner, while acknowledging the most important participants in the learning process – student, teacher and parent. The student facilitates the conference and is supported by the teacher when needed.
3-Way Conferences will hopefully take place this term on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th September. As we would like the conferences to take place onsite and children to be present, we may need to postpone to next term based on restrictions. We will keep you updated!
Big Childcare run both after school care and curriculum day sessions - please see flyer for more information.
Sacramental masses will continue when restrictions allow crowds to once again participate in Church celebrations. Further information will be emailed to the families, as soon as details and dates are known.
Please keep the following children in you prayers as they continue their sacramental journey;
Chelsea Winter, Kristian Seketa, Joel Card, Eamon Grigg, Ruby Sims, Tahni Muscat, Ava Conroy, Nicholas Primerano, Angus Eskdale, Aoife Lakey, Jake Plageman, Madison Buttigieg, Henry Freemantle, Olivia Meehan, Bryson McMillan, Mate Marinovic, Jaimi Reid, Clara Monterosso and Terrence Ozimek.
Every Friday night at 7.30pm, during the term, one of our amazing Teachers and Learning Support Officers, are reading their favourite book, which is being shared on our Facebook page, for our St Brigid's community to listen to. Both students and families are loving this story time and its a good chance for some quiet time at the end of school week.
Friday Assemblies with parent attendance and classroom helpers are currently on hold until further information is provided from the Catholic Education Office in relation to restrictions. Thank you for your understanding and we are looking forward to welcoming parents and families back on site as soon as we can.
