Change of Details
Lord,
Community is many things to many people
but perhaps we might acknowledge at this moment in time,
that community is simply a sense of cohesiveness
among a group of people:
people who support and interact positively together.
Community makes a difference to our lives.
In community we are inspired and encouraged
to be the best we can be.
We are challenged to overcome barriers and adversity together.
In community we embrace difference
and acknowledge the many gifts of those within.
We grow in wisdom and knowledge
and are strengthened through the sharing
of experiences, insights and reflections.
So together we pray
May our lights shine in our community
Transform us as we seek to transform:
Guide us, open our minds and hearts;
so we can walk with those in our care,
attentive to the Wisdom
that calls us to the Kingdom of God.
May the members of our community who are unwell
be wrapped up in your love and care.
Amen
St Brigid's Primary School Ballan wishes to acknowledge respectfully the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, learn, play and gather. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Dear Members of our St Brigid’s Community,
As we navigate our way through Week 10, it is important to take the time to reflect upon the wonderful community events that have taken place in recent times.
Over the past few weeks, we've had the pleasure of hosting and participating in several community events. From our Parent/Teacher Conversations to our Welcome Picnic, these events were a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, staff and families.
The Autumn Festival was a great day. It was terrific to see the wonderful superhero costumes and hear the buzz of excitement as our St Brigid’s community took part in the Parade!
On Monday, our first Parents and Friends meeting took place at school. This was a wonderful opportunity to begin making plans in preparation for fundraising for the year ahead. Our next meeting will take place on Thursday 27th April at 3:15pm in the school library. A very big thank you to our P & F for organising our Hot Cross Bun orders.
This Friday we look forward to participating in our Annual Moorabool and District School Sports day. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with other schools as there will be four schools competing in several activities.
All of these events would not be possible without the support and dedication of our amazing staff, parents, and volunteers. It is truly inspiring to see our community come together and support our students and our school.
As Easter approaches, I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to all of you. Easter is a time for renewal and new beginnings, and I hope it brings you and your family peace and happiness.
Take care and God bless,
Jayne Bosworth

Excerpt from St Brigid's Prayer
At the end of this term, Renee Teven will finish in her role as Learning Support Officer at St Brigid’s. Throughout her time at St Brigid’s, Renee has worked across all classrooms providing support, care and encouragement for all. Renee’s hard work, dedication, and contributions made during her time at St Brigid’s is admirable. Renee has been a committed member of our team, and we're grateful for everything Renee has brought to our school. Renee’s positive outlook and care for all is so appreciated and we wish her the very best for her future endeavours.
This year, we are very excited to welcome families back to our fortnightly assemblies in the Multipurpose Room. Please see the outline below for our Term 2 schedule.

On Friday 31st March, 2023, our school will be participating in the Annual Moorabool and District School Sports day. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with other schools as there will be four schools competing in several activities. This day will be facilitated by school staff and volunteer helpers who will organise and run each event. This is the 26th year that this sports day has been organised at Mason’s Lane, Bacchus Marsh. It would not happen without the dedication and efficiency of the staff and parent helpers from each school to administer each event. Information has been circulated via PAM.
Reminders:
Please ensure that:
- children catching the bus to Mason’s Lane (as per PAM note) are at school no later than 8.15am;
- long-lasting sunscreen is applied to your child/ren before arriving at Mason’s Lane;
- your child/ren are wearing their St Brigid’s sports uniform and school hat;
- children have a drink bottle, snacks and lunch (there will be no canteen on this day);
- you log into your PAM account to give permission for your child/ren to participate in this event and to travel to and from event by bus if required.
This year, each year level will facilitate Holy Week liturgies at St Brigid’s church. Please see the outline below. All welcome.

All children are expected to be at school ready to begin by 9:00am. Arriving on time for school is important. The first 10 minutes of school is a vital time of the day when the day's routine and structure is established. It is a time for ‘tuning in’ and focusing on the learning intentions for the day. It is very difficult for children arriving late to ‘catch up on this missed information. Parents are expected to phone through to the office the child’s absence on the day, or through our school Parent Access Module (PAM). If there has been no contact from the family in the morning of the absence, a sms from the office confirming the child’s absence from school will be sent.
